Welcome to our new blog!

Hi and welcome to our brand spankin' new blog, eat. sleep. MAKE! It's been a long time in coming, but we are so excited to finally welcome you to our new creative space and share all the great projects we've been putting together.

In case you didn't know, I'm Jen, and I've been blogging at My Own Road for the past 2 1/2 years. Shannon is my awesome sister-in-law and one of my best friends. She's also the author of Details of a Love, and she's crazy talented to top it off. Shannon and I both share a passion for creativity and making things, so we decided that two heads (and two creative minds) are better than one, and thus eat. sleep. MAKE. was born! We had the awesome privilege of having Melisa of Pie in the Sky design our new blog for us to help bring our vision to life, and we are SO thrilled with how it turned out - we hope you love it too!

A little about us:

Jen:  I'm a blogger, crafter, and mama to 2 wonderful kids who are a constant source of inspiration. My husband and I recently moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to family, and it's been the best decision of our lives so far (especially since I now have Shannon to help fuel my crafting obsession!)

I started crafting at a very young age, back when making lanyards and friendship bracelets out of plastic craft lacing was cool. I secretly hope those come back into style because I would totally dominate the plastic lanyard market. These days I prefer fabric over plastic lacing, and I can't seem to get enough of sewing and crafting for myself and my kids. I blog because I love to share my ideas with my readers, but also because I need a way to justify my crafting purchases to my husband :)

Shannon: I have a degree in architectural drafting that I put to no use whatsoever.  That’s alright, though.  I live in Pittsburgh and all my family is within a couple miles radius. I don’t have any kids, but my nieces and nephews are pretty much the most important people in my life.  I would do anything for them (except clean their boogers.)

In the equation of eat.sleep.MAKE. I take care of the interior design elements and a lot of the fashion/style side of things.  I love clothes and I love decorating. And more than anything I love creating something new and unique.  My husband and I go to Estate Sales every weekend to find one of a kind items to refresh or long lost fashion to revive.

You can learn more about us by visiting us here, or contacting us at eatsleepmake@gmail.com

eat. sleep. MAKE. is a little of this and that made to encompass everything we love. Shannon's strengths are in fashion, home decor and design, and I love to sew, cook, and make things for my children, so you can expect to see a little bit of everything here! Most of all, we want to share DIY's that everyone can do so that our readers can make things with us.

Here's a little teaser of some projects we have coming up:

These are just a few great projects that we can't wait to share with you!

  4. CONGRATS!!! Can't wait to swap cooking ideas and gather inspirations : )

P.S. My 10 year-old cousin-in-law was making plastic lanyard bracelets at the beach last week. "Have you even seen one of these???" She asked. She seemed severely disappointed that I had, and made all the same bracelets for myself in fourth grade.

Kids even tell the same JOKES we did twenty years ago. How does this happen??
